- For the DROD RPG monster, see Tarstuff baby (RPG).
Tarstuff babies are the monsters associated with tarstuff but, unlike tarstuff mothers, can exist independently. Tarstuff babies are divided into three types: mud babies, tar babies and gel babies.
Description[]
When tarstuff splits into completely separate, sentient, savage entities, the resulting creatures can be one of the most intimidating sights within a dungeon. Infused with malice, their lethality is only rivaled by their stickiness.
Behavior[]
- Visit monsters page for information on default monster behavior.
- See the interactions page for a list of all interactions for this element.
Tarstuff babies form when there is not enough surface tension to hold solid chunks of tarstuff together, such as when tarstuff grows around a corner or when cut into blobs smaller than four square tiles. Tarstuff babies are unaffected by hot tiles, and do not affect the state of tarstuff gates.
Tar and Mud Babies[]
Tar and Mud babies form from unstable blobs of tar and mud respectively.
Movement[]
- Unbrained tar and mud babies move in the same way as roaches.
- Brained tar and mud babies move in the same way as brained roaches.
Vulnerabilities[]
- Tar and mud babies are vulnerable to: Weapon strikes, Drowning in deep and shallow water, Adder jaws, Puffs, Fire traps, Spikes, and Explosions.
Other[]
- If a tarstuff switcher token is activated, tar and mud babies will switch their types along with tarstuff.
Gel Babies[]
Gel babies form from unstable blobs of gel.
Movement[]
- Unbrained gel babies move in the same way as rock golems.
- Brained gel babies move in the same way as brained rock golems.
- Gel babies are sticky enough to traverse shallow water.
Vulnerabilities[]
- Gel babies are vulnerable to: Weapon strikes, Adder jaws, Puffs, Fire traps, Spikes, and Explosions.
Other[]
- If a tarstuff switcher token is activated, gel babies will switch their types along with tarstuff.
