- For the DROD RPG element, see Stairs (RPG).
Stairs connect areas of dungeons or other regions together. Most levels are completed by finding stairs leading to the next.
Behavior[]
When the player steps onto a tile of stair, he is taken to the level entrance specified by the hold's architect, or to the end of the hold.
Interactions[]
- See the interactions page for a list of all interactions for this element.
- Stair tiles are impassible to every monster and considered visible obstacles by brains.
- The majority of elements cannot be placed on stair tiles, with the exception of orthosquares, checkpoints, lighting effects, fuses, obstacles, and tarstuff. These elements do not act as obstacles if the player walks down that staircase.
- Most elements and monsters can be placed first and then a staircase can be placed on top of them. These elements will function normally, although monsters cannot move out of the staircase unless there is an empty tile adjacent to them.
- Tarstuff does not grow across stairs, but briar does.
